“The May episode of “What’s Up” was really cool. I had on Ben Shinabery who runs a non-profit called The Dick and Jane Project. The orginization works with kids who come up with lyrics and concepts for songs. Those lyrics and concepts are then turned into music by local bands in Columbus. After our interview he brought on some of the musicians that he worked with to talk to me and then play some of the songs they’ve created with the children in the program.”

“”What’s Up Columbus with Justin Golak” was a late night talk show style show that I did at Kafe Kerouac in Columbus on the first Thursday of every month. Like your Conans and your Lettermans, I would do a monologue, have comedy bits, and have a couple guests on for every show. The show was a lot of fun to do and we got some great press and great audience response on it.

We made podcasts of four of the shows and I will put them up here as a sort of prelude to “The Comedy Sitdown.”

The April episode includes guests Megan Ralston of the hot 17 and band In Silent Movies.”
